Srinagar, December 2 (TKE): A groundbreaking healthcare endeavour took centre stage Wednesday, with the launch of a massive cataract surgery camp at Uri’s Community Health Centre (CHC).
Dr. Sajjad Shafi, MLA Uri, officially launched the initiative, which aims to address visual impairments in the region. The camp, organised by the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, is a collaborative effort led by the Baramulla Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Uri Block Medical Officer (BMO).
Its goal is to give free cataract surgery and follow-up care to impoverished communities in Uri and adjacent areas.Dr. Sajjad Shafi, who inaugurated the event, emphasised the significance of accessible and inexpensive healthcare for rural areas. “Quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and this program ensures that Uri residents have access to essential medical services.
Cataract surgery may be life-changing, and this camp will help many people improve their quality of life,” he stated.The camp has received a great reaction, with many people signing up for free consultations and medical treatments.
