Anantnag, April 9. Jammu and Kashmir Police in Anantnag announced on Wednesday that they had solved a fraud involving ATMs, arresting two people and recovering stolen cash. Anantnag Police has successfully solved an ATM fruad case reported on 21st March 2025, following a complaint received via email from one Mohd Bakir Mir S/O Late Ahmad Mir R/O Chittergul, a retired government employee by profession,” according to a statement released by the news outlet Kashmir Bulletin.According to the lawsuit, on March 15, 2025, the complainant went to the ATM in Chittergul to withdraw cash.
During the transaction, he faced a technical problem and requested assistance from a young man inside the ATM booth.
The guy fraudulently exchanged the complainant’s ATM card and then withdrew a significant amount from his account using the swapped card. ” “Taking cognisance of the matter, a case under FIR No. 10/2025 U/S 303(2), 318(4) BNS was registered at Police Station Uttrasoo, and investigation was promptly initiated,” according to the declaration.
During the course of the investigation, two accused individuals were located and captured in Kulgam district.The accused have been identified as; Zahoor Ahmad Itoo S/O Ab Hamid Itoo R/O Sanigam, Kulgam and Muzamil Ahmad Itoo S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Itoo R/O Sanigam, Kulgam,” the statement reads.
