Baramulla, August 4 In a startling event, copper core coils from a 250 kv transformer were taken by robbers in Jehama hamlet of Rafiabad in the Baramulla region of north Kashmir, disrupting the local electrical supply.
The residents informed the news outlet, Kashmir News Observer, that they discovered the theft early in the morning and reported it to the police.
The supply of electricity has been disturbed by the strange incident.
The incident took place at night. They added that after severing both power supply lines, the copper core coils were carefully removed, leaving the transformer’s body intact.
The incident has been reported to the authorities, who have launched an inquiry to apprehend the perpetrators and are working to restore the area’s power supply.
