In its continued fight against financial fraud, the Cyber Unit Handwara has made great progress, freezing and recovering 1,27,000.
in two different cases of internet scams. The victims in both instances were seduced by websites that offered lucrative payouts.
The trick entailed using the promise of large returns to coerce the victims into making financial investments.
Little assignments with fast payoffs were initially offered to entice the victims.
It says that they were gradually asked to invest bigger sums of money, which resulted in significant financial losses.It states that 1,1000 were quickly analysed and recovered by the Cyber Unit Handwara, and 1,16000 have been frozen.
J&K Police cautioned the public once more to be on the lookout for these types of scams. There isn’t a genuine investing plan that promises rapid and significant profits.
The message advises the public to make prudent investments and to stay away from such scams.(KB)
