The School Education Department in the Kashmir region decided on Tuesday to move all sessions from 8 AM to 1 PM in both rural and urban regions due to the extreme heat.In an order, the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), according to a news source, said that many parents and other stakeholders have requested a modification in school times because of the prevailing heatwave.According to the weather forecast, the same circumstances are anticipated to persist for the next few days.
Thus, in light of the aforementioned, taking into account the requests from parents and other stakeholders, as well as the weather forecast, classes in all government and accredited private schools in the Kashmir Division up to the Higher Secondary level will start at 8:00 AM and end at 1:00 PM in both rural and urban areas, according to the order.DSEK stated further that employees, both teaching and non-teaching, are expected to report to work between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM. “This arrangement will continue until August 10, 2024.”
