The death toll in the Bijbehara traffic accident has grown to two, after a young cricketer who was badly injured died late last night.
The tragedy occurred on Monday evening near Fruit Mandi Jablipora in South Kashmir’s Bijbehara Anantnag District.
According to JKNS, Jasif Hassan, son of Gh Hassan Dar, a Sangam resident and aspiring cricketer, was one among three people hurt in a truck-car incident. He was taken to GMC Anantnag in severe condition but died despite physicians’ best efforts, according to an official.
Previously, Irfan Ahmad of Mirbazar perished on the scene in the accident. Nadeem Ahmad Dar of Sethar and Khursheed Ahmad of Khonmoh are also being treated for their injuries.
The tragic occurrence has thrown a veil over the town, particularly in the local cricketing community. (JKNS)
