Tears of joy welled up as a father witnessed his son’s maiden Test century under challenging circumstances.
On the third day of the fourth Test against Australia in Melbourne, Nitish Kumar Reddy scored a century to rescue his team from a difficult position.
He amassed 114 runs off 189 balls with the help of 11 fours and a six. Reddy also earned the distinction of becoming the third-youngest Indian cricketer to score a Test century in Australia.Nitish’s father, Motiyala Reddy, was in the crowd during the game and was overcome with emotion as he cheered his son’s century.
Speaking to the media, he stated, “This is a very special day for our family, one that we will never forget.” Nitish has been performing since his U-14 and U-15 cricket days, and now he has demonstrated his talent on the international stage, which makes me extremely proud.”
