Gujarat’s Ahmedabad In Gujarat, excessive rainfall has resulted in extensive damage and the death of at least eight people. Numerous regions are now inaccessible due to the disruption of railway services caused by the heavy rains.
A red alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for multiple districts in the state, indicating that there will be significant rainfall for the next 24 hours.Authorities said that flooding has occurred in a number of locations, including cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, and Vadodara, as a result of the intense rainfall. Numerous highways have been flooded, and in certain places the electricity supply has been interrupted.
Waterlogging on the rails has caused many trains to be cancelled or rerouted, severely disrupting railway services. It has been stated by the Western Railway division that train services would be suspended indefinitely.To conduct rescue and relief efforts, the state government has dispatched emergency services, such as the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).It is urged that residents stay inside and only travel when absolutely essential.
